The Project Board wishes to advise that the draft “water side and piping naming schedule” is now released to the industry. The schedule provides a common naming convention for system, plant, equipment and fittings related to piping systems. The schedule excludes medical gas systems which will be covered under a separate schedule. The schedule incorporates naming and colour conventions from a number of sources including relevant Australian Standards as far as practicable. In surveying project documentation a high degree of alignment was determined across the majority of Australia’s leading consultants and this forms the basis and starting point of the naming conventions in the BIM-MEPAUS standard.
