General Manager of Trimble MEP to address the Construction Innovation 2016 Forum

The Air Conditioning and Mechanical Contractors’ Association (AMCA) is delighted to announce Mr Pat Bohle, is the latest high profile international keynote presenter at the BIM-MEPAUS Construction Innovation 2016 Forum. Since 2011, Trimble has been an excellent and an important partner.

Mr Pat Bohle is General Manager of the MEP Division at Trimble. His team delivers estimating, detailing, field layout, and scanning solutions to leading mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC contractors and engineers around the world. Pat joined Trimble in 2000 as Vice President of Marketing for the Spectra Precision solutions. Pat has been in the construction industry for over 20 years delivering industry leading solutions to the AEC market place. Pat received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Towson University.

Pat will highlight new BIM trends and solutions that impact all major stakeholders in the lifecycle of a building, featuring developments in cloud and mobile technology, 3D modeling and visualization, and project and budget management and much more. We will highlight examples where our customers are using these practices successfully across the Design-Build-Operate (DBO) lifecycle of a building. Our session will showcase Trimble solutions that empower AEC (architecture, engineering and construction) professionals and building owners/occupiers to improve quality and safety, increase efficiency, and maximize the profitability of projects and facilities–from concept to construction, operation, and renovation.

In addition to Pat’s session a workshop will be delivered by Mr Christopher Johnson, Technical Sales Consultant, BuildingPoint. Christopher’s workshop will advise on how project teams maximise the benefits of their Trimble technology and present a best practice approach for the use of BIM on Site survey and construction set out. The team will perform a live demonstration using of both the TX8 laser scanner and the Trimble Robotic Total Station, focusing on the workflow from the TX8 scanner and RealWorks and Edgewise software showing how easy it is to apply these Solutions back to the Field on any project. Trimble and BuildingPoint Australia have been working closely with a number of Australia’s leading head contractors and specialist trade sub-contractors to leverage constructible BIM models and the power of Trimble’s Field and Site Layout solutions. This is seeing a rapid adoption of the technology across Australia, from the largest PPP projects to many medium and smaller projects. This new approach allows the project construction design teams to be truly connected to site teams providing significant benefits including:

  • Minimisation of set-out time;
  • Minimisation of set-out mistakes;
  • Significant reduction in onsite rework;
  • Reduced overall project duration and costs;
  • Provision of more accurate as-builts.

Trimble’s expertise in positioning technology for mobile workforce productivity, combined with key domain knowledge in the sub-trades and BuildingPoint Australia’s local industry knowledge, enables BuildingPoint Australia to meet the large and small MEP customers’ needs.

Pat will be joined at the forum by thought leaders and practitioners from across the supply chain, each providing unique insight into how leading firms such as Hochtief Company, Comfort Systems USA, Autodesk, ClearEdge3D, Dassault Systèmes, U.S Engineering Company and  Buro Happold are utilising technological advancements to deliver innovative best practice solutions in the building and construction industry.

It will be held at the Australian Technology Park, Sydney on 4 –5 August 2016.
