On 16 November 2010, The AMCA hosted a vendor neutral BIM Industry forum at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Ms Sue Holliday, Built Environment Industry Innovation Council was the keynote presenter on the day. Two key international presenters included Mr Sandy Damasco, Senior Vice President and National BIM/ IPD Director, Lend Lease America and Mr John Rutt, Director, Construction Piping Services, Victaulic.
The objectives communicated at the BIM industry forum included:
- development of a common understanding of BIM across all levels of the building services supply chain;
- demonstration of the three integral components of the proposed BIM-MEPAUS system; and
- provision of a roadmap, including access to resources that support product models to make BIM an efficient tool for all industry stakeholders.
