BIM in a Convergent and Connected Future
We are excited to be hearing from David Philp, Global BIM/IM Consultancy Director with multinational engineering firm AECOM at the upcoming Construction Innovation 2018 Forum. With a career spanning 25 years in the industry and a recognised global leader on BIM and digital asset management strategies, David has worked for some of the construction industry’s leading contractors and consultants.
David will harness his collective industry knowledge to deliver a keynote presentation that will explore the convergence of a physical and digital built environment and how smart connected built assets can enable an end to end asset life-cycle management process.
With Building Information Modelling (BIM) becoming a central plank in the building services sector, he will be exploring, what next? David will give case study solutions on how industry leading firms have improved functionality and enhanced the service provision beyond delivery. He will address how we can create digital estates at a city level where integrated data rich models can support FM, asset management and ultimately user experience. Drawing upon reference projects he will demonstrate the value of BIM when married with other integrated systems, telemetry and analytics to support socially responsive built infrastructure.
As Global BIM/IM Consultancy Director at AECOM, David assists clients around the globe to achieve better outcomes through digitised and innovative approaches to the asset life-cycle. In addition to being Charted Construction Manager, he is a Trustee, Fellow and Ambassador of the CIOB. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Civil Engineering, Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and the Institute of Civil Engineering Surveyors. He is co-author of BIM 4 Dummies and winner of the BIM Show Live, Digital Legend 2018.
