The AMCA is proud to announce that on 14 June 2012, a memorandum of understanding was signed with the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA). NECA is the peak industry body that represents the best interests of the electrical and communications contracting industry in Australia.
The AMCA and NECA will seek to establish a high level relationship that will establish an electrical equipment models workgroup to meet the following deliverables:
- a peer reviewed technical schedule;
- a generic BIM model for the fire equipment component, to be used as the generic model within the BIM-MEPAUSpackages releases; and
- a generic CAD model for incorporation into the BIM-MEPAUS Add-in release.
The first electrical workgroup will start shortly focussing on Cable Tray.
