Aconex Commitment to the Building and Construction Industry continues at this year’s Forum

The Air Conditioning and Mechanical Contractors’ Association (AMCA) partnership with Aconex hails back to 2011. Mr Rob Philpot, Aconex Co-founder, has participated in most years and the firm continues to provide an excellent corporate contribution to the annual construction innovation forum.

On 17 March 2016, as a testament to Aconex impressive growth strategy they acquired Conject Holding GmbH, a leading cloud and mobile collaboration service provider in Europe and other regions, for a total cash consideration of €65 million.

This acquisition will significantly expand our market penetration and user network throughout Europe, and will further consolidate our position as a leader in the global market for cloud-based construction collaboration solutions,” said Aconex CEO Leigh Jasper. “We believe that the strategic, operational and financial synergies of the business combination will substantially increase the long-term value that we are able to deliver to Aconex customers and shareholders. The addition of Conject will reinforce our strategic focus of growing the network, expanding product breadth and driving scale.”

This year Frank Weiss, VP BIM and Innovation at Aconex, will deliver a keynote address on their overall strategy improving productivity in the construction industry. Frank is a co-founder of CONJECT AG. In recent years, he was responsible for products and innovation at the CONJECT group.

After his study in Business Administration Frank Weiss began his carrier in information logistics 1992 before he became a business consultant. In conject he focused on product development starting from the company’s foundation back in the year 2000. Based on this experience, he established the consulting business within conject to support its software sales worldwide. In the following years, he concentrated on establishing and expanding the company’s business with national and international key accounts. He opened offices in Dubai, Vienna and St. Petersburg. He was responsible for the OOO CONJECT, the Russian subsidiary in St. Petersburg before moving to Berlin. Frank is passionate about innovative technologies and their impact for the business. In Aconex today his role is to help drive innovation towards BIM from both product development and sales perspectives.

Frank will be joined at the forum by thought leaders and practitioners from across the supply chain, each providing unique insight into how leading firms such as Leica, Bryden Wood, Turner, McKinstry, Woods Baggot, COWI and Autodesk are utilising technological advancements to deliver innovative best practice solutions in the building and construction industry.

This year’s forum returns to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre – 14-15 September.
