A new world-class integrated resort development is being constructed that will put Brisbane on the map as a tourism, leisure and entertainment destination. Expected to open in 2022, Queen’s Wharf Brisbane will transform the CBD and river’s edge with an iconic design that embraces Brisbane’s inviting subtropical climate and celebrates the precinct’s Indigenous and European heritage with interpretive trails and experiences spanning the Brisbane River and ridge-line.

Destination Brisbane Consortium is delivering the $3 billion development, which will cover more than 26 hectares across land and water.

A joint presentation by Mr Chris Deans, Services Manager, Destination Brisbane Consortium and Mr Alastair Brook, BIM Operations Manager, PDC Group will communicate how the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct will transform.

For the past 12 years he has been based in Brisbane managing a tier one mechanical contracting businesses. During this time he also served on the board of AMCA Queensland for 8 years, including two terms as President. Chris has been involved in the BIM-MEPAUS Initiative since its inception. In July 2016, he took up the position of Services Manager on the Queen’s Wharf project and is currently leading the design for all building services disciplines.

Alastair’s studies and experience have prepared him for his current position as Project BIM Manager on the $3B Queens Wharf Project, Brisbane. Previously working on the $1B Perth Stadium and $1.2B Perth Children’s Hospital, where his roles varied from the day to day management of BIM, through to the development and implementation of BIM plans and strategies, liaising with a variety of project stakeholders. His background of design and cost management allow him to specialize in utilising BIM to add value and increase efficiency for the pre-contract, design and construction management teams.

Chris and Alistair will be joined at the forum by thought leaders and practitioners from across the supply chain and overseas. Each will provide a unique insight into how leading firms such as Zuuse, Aconex, Leica, Bryden Wood, Turner, McKinstry, Woods Baggot, COWI and Autodesk are utilising technological advancements to deliver innovative best practice solutions in the building and construction industry.
