After two years of work and engagement with industry, the Council has produced a Recommendations Report 2010 which proposes 10 recommendations to move the industry forward. The recommendations across four key themes focus on Better Practice; Design Leadership; Cooperative Research; and Enabling Regulation and Procurement.

The Australian Construction Industry Forum (ACIF) is focused on creating a competitive construction and property industry that is a leader in building Australia’s prosperity. Representatives of the BIM-MEPAUS presented at a joint ACIF/ Australian Procurement and Construction Council (APCC) Board meeting. Members supported the initiative and indicated a willingness to collaborate further as milestones are progressed.
The 2011 NPRF conference was held at the Melbourne Convention Centre in March 2011 with the theme ‘Healthy industry, healthy people, healthy environment’. On 8 February 2011, the BIM-MEPAUS Project Board met with Senator Kim Carr, Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research. Minister Carr supported in-principle the direction sought after with this initiative. Currently at officer level the Project Board are exploring ways to partner the Commonwealth Government.
