Autodesk re-affirms commitment to the Construction Innovation Forum and BIM-MEPAUS initiative

The Air Conditioning and Mechanical Contractors’ Association (AMCA) is delighted to announce Mr Steve Butler, Industry Strategy Manager – MEP and Fabrication and Mr Andy Robins, Software Development Manager, Autodesk will return again to participate at this year’s BIM-MEPAUS Construction Innovation Forum.

This session will link Autodesk’s Revit MEP and Fabrication strategy and new features important with project implementation. Steve will share important details on strategy and communicate global trends with customers since his participation last year and in 2014. Andy who also participated last year will share the new technical features associated with the Autodesk Revit MEP and Fabrication 2017 release. Andy will particularly focus on how these two platforms are increasingly improving the data exchange between Revit MEP and Fabrication assisting collaboration between consultants and contractors.

Steve is the Industry Strategy Manager for MEP and Fabrication Autodesk. He has been with Autodesk for over ten years and in that time held various roles related to MEP product and business development. Prior to joining Autodesk Mr. Butler worked for design consultants, contractors and manufacturers’. Andy has a deep history with the MEP industry, having been involved in some way for almost 25 years. Andy currently works for Autodesk as software development manager, with a primary focus on the Autodesk Fabrication product line and Autodesk Revit MEP. Prior to Autodesk, Andy worked for MAP Software (acquired by Autodesk), playing a major role in the product development of original titles CAD-Duct and CADmep+ (now Autodesk Fabrication CADmep) AutoCAD-based applications, taking its development from a ‘2D LISP’ based program to a full 3D c++ ObjectARX application. Andy is a regular speaker at industry events, having spoken in the past Autodesk University and many User Group events. Andy’s current mission is to lead the next generation of software development for the MEP contractor industry, which he does from the Autodesk office in Blackpool, UK.

Steve and Andy will be joined at the forum by thought leaders and practitioners from across the supply chain, each providing unique insight into how leading firms such as Hochtief Company, Trimble, Dassault Systèmes, ClearEdge3D, BuroHappold Engineering, Comfort Systems USA and  U.S Engineering Company are utilising technological advancements to deliver innovative best practice solutions in the building and construction industry.

It will be held at the Australian Technology Park, Sydney on 4 –5 August 2016.
