President | McKinstry
Doug Moore has over 30 years of experience in the design and construction industry in the Pacific Northwest. Under his leadership, McKinstry has grown from a local mechanical contractor into a nationally recognized, comprehensive design, build, operate and maintain enterprise. As a leader of construction, energy, sustainability and smart buildings, McKinstry’s footprint across the Pacific Northwest, Rocky Mountains, Midwest and Southwest continues to grow addressing needs in schools, hospitals, government buildings, industrial facilities and commercial offices.
Doug has promoted the pursuit of high performance buildings coupled with next generation construction techniques to deliver cost-effective buildings that model environmental stewardship. He is currently focused on two areas: increasing the speed of building design and construction and creating adaptive buildings that interact with occupants, operators and smart grid. Since launching his career with McKinstry in the late 1970’s, Doug has risen through the ranks, and now, as president oversees a staff of 1,600 employees.
He shares his extensive knowledge by serving as a member of industry committees and advisory boards for various organizations, among them Seattle University’s Center for Leadership Formation and Center for Business Ethics; the Oregon BEST Commercialization Advisory Board; WSU’s Imagine Tomorrow high school student competition; and the Architecture, Construction and Engineering (ACE) Mentorship Program. He is a past president of the Puget Sound Chapter of ASHRAE, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers and corresponding member of ASHRAE’s task group on HVAC Contractors and Design Build Firms. Mr. Moore is a registered professional engineer and a LEED® Accredited Professional.
Director, Head of Global Systems | Bryden Wood
Having joined Bryden Wood shortly after the practice’s formation in 1995, Jaimie has a particular interest in the processes used to organise projects; controlling the flow of information and delivery to dramatically improve efficiency in design and construction. These techniques have been implemented on a number of large projects such as London Heathrow Terminal 5, Terminal 2 and major frameworks for clients including GlaxoSmithKline, the Metropolitan Police Authority, London 2012 Olympics Athletes’ Village and on the Circle rollout of private hospitals. Jaimie is currently leading a team in the design of the new prison estates transformation, a £1.2 billion programme for the Ministry of Justice, and developing the DfMA approach for their delivery.
Jaimie was a member of the UK Government Cabinet Office BIM Core Team, coordinating work packages relating to productivity and delivery, and was instrumental in delivering implementation strategies and early adopter projects in the public sector. He is now a part of the Digital Built Britain team and recently wrote the report ‘Delivery Platforms for Government Assets: Creating a Marketplace for Manufactured Spaces’. This has been adopted by Digital Built Britain as the key articulation of HM Government’s aspiration to adopt a more manufacturing-led approach to construction. Jaimie is the Head of Global Systems at Bryden Wood – this includes both physical systems (design for manufacture and component build solutions for healthcare, education, aviation, pharmaceutical and infrastructure projects) and information systems (data analysis, digital delivery and BIM) for projects in the UK, Europe, Russia and Singapore. Jaimie regularly talks at conferences in the UK and abroad on the subjects of BIM and modern methods of construction.
Principal & Director of Technical Innovation | Woods Bagot
Shane is an internationally recognized leader in the advanced use of technology in design and for the built environment within a wide array of sectors. His early work at Grimshaw Architects focused on the design of arts and cultural institutions using an array of computational design processes. At Woods Bagot, he directs a vision centered on technical innovation and leads a global team dedicated to researching, developing and applying new models of design and delivery to projects.
As a director of the design computation and education non-profit Smartgeometry, he is actively engaged in the intersection of art and technology. Smartgeometry promotes the emergence of a new paradigm for digital designers and craftsman where mathematics and algorithms are as natural as pen and paper.
BIM Technical Designer | COWI
Cesare is an experienced BIM enthusiast and user of Autodesk Revit MEP. He has more than ten years of continuous experience using this package and has a particular interest in researching, developing and implementing BIM strategies, methodologies and workflows. He is currently undertaking a BSc(Hons) in Engineering Management to gain a deeper understanding of construction processes; pursuing the continuous development and research of new strategies/workflows to improve efficiency and productivity using generative design and visual programming. Cesare believes the most important pieces of the “BIM puzzle” to be the 3C’c – Collaboration, Communication and Coordination.
Cesare’s passion for BIM is translated into the outstanding quality of achievements delivered. He is a strong believer in teamwork that is always committed and dedicated to deliver the best in each project. He is also well known for his creative visions and ideas – an innovative and a practical thinker – “simplicity is the most sophisticated method”. His work and experience has developed through exposure across different projects and countries including Qatar where he currently resides, this provides him with a high cultural intelligence and capability of adaption to any cultural environments/challenges.
Innovation Development Manager | Turner Construction Company
As Turner Construction’s Global Innovation Development Manager, Mr. Goss oversees a broad portfolio of organizational transformation initiatives. Whether he is coaching internal entrepreneurs, advising senior leadership, developing external partnerships, or pioneering new revenue streams for the company, he is a passionate advocate for the broad technological and cultural changes necessary to meet the challenges facing current and future generations of the AEC industry.
Trained as an architect at UCLA, he has previously held positions at SHoP Architects, CASE Design, and WeWork. In total, he has nearly 20 years of experience in design, construction, and operations, granting a deep understanding of the current state of the industry across all phases of delivery. Combining this knowledge with a strategic vision for both future technological trends and process improvement, his goal is to continuously raise the bar for the effective and efficient delivery of buildings at Turner and throughout the industry.
Industry Strategy Manager – MEP and Fabrication | Autodesk
Steve Butler is Industry Strategy Manager for MEP & Fabrication at Autodesk. Steve initially joined Autodesk as a third party developer focusing on MEP software solutions. In the 10 years since, he has provided MEP product implementation support as a Customer Success Engineer; country specific solutions as Globalisation Product Line Manager; and as MEP Product Line Manager, has been responsible for technical delivery of Revit MEP and Autodesk Fabrication products. Prior to joining Autodesk, Steve worked for design consultants, contractors and manufacturers.
Group Engineering Manager | A.G. Coombs Group
Warwick Stannus is Group Engineering Manager of the A.G. Coombs Group of Companies, where he is responsible for the technical leadership and professional development for all engineering and technical staff. With a background in both the consulting and contracting sides of the construction industry, Warwick has a strong understanding of the requirements to successfully implement integrated project delivery strategies. In recent years, he has been heavily involved in the delivery of Independent Commissioning Agent services for a number of Australia’s leading Green Star projects, and has developed valuable experience in best practice sustainable design and project delivery. He also provides a range of engineering and commissioning advisory services related to central plant upgrades, data centre engineering, commissioning management and building information modelling. Warwick is Technical Director of the BIM-MEPAUS initiative, and has been pivotal in the development of industry standards, practices and workflows.

Jeremy Harkins is the Director and co-founder of “ineni Realtime”, an innovative technology company focused on the development of the Realtime Visualisation Industry. Jeremy is at the leading edge of real-time virtual technologies and has spoken internationally about 3D immersive environments, VR (Virtual Reality) and AR (Augmented Reality) for architecture, infrastructure and smart cities. Working with Property Groups, Building Controls Specialists and Developers, Jeremy is aimed at commercialising and integrating new technologies into the Architecture, Planning, infrastructure and Construction industries. With over 15 years of experience in Architectural Technologies including professional work, consultancy and Full-Time Academia, Jeremy has been a lecturer at an international university (UNSW) helping to educate industry in what can be possible, and is currently focused on the rapid growth and positioning of “ineni Realtime” as market leaders.
Senior MEP Technical Consultant (Revit MEP) | A2K Technologies
Brendan is the Senior Technical Consultant for MEP at A2K Technologies with a key focus on Revit MEP and Fabrication tool-sets. Brendan has almost 20 years’ experience within the AEC industry, implementing BIM standards, procedures and training and promoting the appropriate use of BIM software for users across different disciplines and multiple projects. Brendan has expert experience in multi-disciplined BIM collaboration and has been a key technical advisor for the BIM-MEPAUS industry initiative for the past five years. His current role involves the delivery of custom training, consulting and support for Revit MEP and related software throughout Australia and New Zealand. He is also a regular speaker and presenter at numerous industry recognised events and conferences throughout the year.
Software Development Consultant | GTP Services
With over 27 years’ experience in software development in the MEP sector, Andy Robins was heavily involved in the development of the MAP Software product line which focused on fabrication from the onset. Prior to the MAP Software acquisition Andy played a major role in the product development of the renowned CAD-Duct and CADmep+ (now Autodesk Fabrication CADmep) AutoCAD-based applications, taking its development from a ‘2D Lisp’ based program to a full 3D c++ ObjectARX application. While spending six years with Autodesk as the software development manager his responsibilities included bringing Fabrication workflows into the Revit environment, utilising the customers’ existing Fabrication databases and protecting content investments. Currently Andy is consulting with GTP to extend Fabrication workflows from Desktop to shop and field utilising cutting edge technologies based on the Fabrication data and the Forge platform.

Tim Newman is the General Manager at PowerCad Software, a Melbourne based company that has been developing software products for the building industry since 1991. Tim is leading the company’s Revit interface product development and BIM strategy. Tim holds a bachelor degree in engineering and has over 18 years’ experience in global product development. He has led engineering teams to deliver product designs for manufacture across the globe. He draws on this experience in lean manufacturing and design for manufacture, to consult to several companies to help develop lean processes that reduce waste and improve profitability.

National Director and Victorian Executive Director | AMCA
As National Director and Victorian Executive Director with the AMCA, Sumit Oberoi has been instrumental in the development of the BIM-MEPAUS Initiative from its inception in 2010. Sumit is a passionate industry policy advocate who continually seeks to help AMCA members deliver quality projects through construction innovation.
Sumit joined the AMCA in 2009 as a Policy Analyst where he was responsible for the association’s policy program and subsequently employed as the Executive Director (Victoria). Prior to joining the AMCA, Sumit worked in numerous roles with the Victorian State Government, most notably within the Economic and Financial Policy area at the Department of Treasury and Finance. Sumit holds directorships with the Plumbing Joint Training Fund (PJTF), Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centre (PICAC), Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Building Services Exhibition (ARBS), and Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC). Sumit also represents the AMCA at the Australian Construction Industry Forum (ACIF) and the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI).

Shannon Thomas is the Executive Manager for Australia’s national BIM-MEPAUS initiative run through the AMCA (Air Conditioning and Mechanical Contractors’ Association). Shannon has a Bachelor of Engineering (Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management) with Honours from Monash University and completed postgraduate studies in Design Science (Building Services) from the University of Sydney. With wide ranging professional experience in a number of roles within the automotive industry, Shannon has a particular interest in using his knowledge in HVAC Design, Project Engineering, Continuous Improvement and Lean Production to help guide the implementation and successful adoption of the national BIM-MEPAUS Initiative within the Construction industry’s exciting and evolving BIM space.
BIM Operations Manager | PDC Group
Alastair’s studies and experience have prepared him for his current position as Project BIM Manager on the $3B Queens Wharf Project, Brisbane. Previously working on the $1B Perth Stadium & $1.2B Perth Children’s Hospital, where his roles varied from the day to day management of BIM, through to the development and implementation of BIM plans and strategies, liaising with a variety of project stakeholders. His background of design and cost management allow him to specialize in utilising BIM to add value and increase efficiency for the pre-contract, design and construction management teams.

Bernie graduated from RMIT with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Surveying and Land Information before commencing at CR Kennedy’s technical sales and survey support. Following more than 20 years in the geospatial and survey industry, Bernie is excited to lead a dedicated team of design and construction specialists to bring Leica Building Construction solutions to the Australian market. Bernie and CR Kennedy have been long-time supporters of the AMCA and the Construction Innovation Forum.
Services Manager | Destination Brisbane Consortium
Chris has 40 years experience in the mechanical services industry in Australia and NZ, and for the past 12 years has been based in Brisbane managing tier one mechanical contracting businesses. During this time he also served on the board of AMCA Qld for 8 years, including two terms as President, and has been involved in the BIM-MEPAUS Initiative since its inception. In July 2016 he took up the position of Services Manager on the Queen’s Wharf project and is currently leading the design for all building services disciplines.
Senior Solutions Consultant | A2K Technologies
Originally from Ramsbottom in the North West of England, Dave worked in both the CAM and CAD departments for a large HVAC construction company, instrumental in the development of MAP’s CADDuct software. He spent a period working at MAP as their CAD support manager before moving to a HVAC contractor as a project engineer. He then spent five years cutting his teeth at a global multi disciplinary design practice in central Manchester. Following a move to Melbourne seven years ago Dave has spent the last three years configuring and deploying Autodesk’s Fabrication ESTmep for one of Australia’s largest HVAC Contractors. Now with A2K Technologies, he brings 30 years’ experience from the M.E.P. construction / design industry to the BIM-MEPAUS Initiative.

Frank Weiss is a co-founder of CONJECT AG and is responsible for product management at the CONJECT group. He began in product development for conjectPM in the year 2000. Based on this experience, he established the consulting business in 2001. In the following years he concentrated on establishing and expanding the company’s business with national and international key accounts. In addition to product management, he is also responsible for the OOO CONJECT, Russian subsidiary in St. Petersburg.

Malcolm has been with Zuuse since its infancy, wearing multiple hats including Product Manager and Consulting Services Director, and now holds the position of Innovation Director. Malcolm has over twenty-five years’ experience in the software industry, having worked for leading organisations across Europe and Australia, ranging from small, private entities through to ASX-listed National companies. He started his career in software development, in developer and team leader roles, before moving into roles overseeing product development, marketing and sales of developer productivity software to blue chip companies and government agencies worldwide. Having previously held General Manager and Product Manager roles, Malcolm is highly customer-focused and delivered over 200 sales and training presentations on-site and at major industry conferences in Australia, US and Europe.

Rush is the Group BIM and Business Improvement Manager of the BSA Limited group of companies which include the Triple-M and Allstaff brands. Rush has broad knowledge of HVAC and construction industry best practices, standards and worked in varied positions for a number of engineering consulting, mechanical contracting and construction related software companies. His technical industry knowledge has allowed him to champion BIM related services to the industry and successfully design and implement leading BIM strategies and workflows within BSA. This enables a coherent approach with all project stakeholders for the transfer of information from concept through to production, installation and handover, utilising the latest in technology. Rush is passionate about being at the forefront of the fastest moving construction industry trends utilising BIM. This is why he has spent the past eight years promoting the shift to BIM within our industry and enables him to confidently deliver BIM compliant projects for some of Australia’s largest healthcare and commercial clients. As the leader of Digital Enterprise at Ridley, Daniel’s vision is to transform the way buildings and infrastructure are designed, built and operated. He is committed to constantly challenge the status quo and has the practical experience, along with the big picture thinking to make it happen. Prior to joining Willow, Daniel was responsible for developing Digital Engineering throughout the CIMIC Group’s Asia-Pacific operations from Design and Construction through to Facilities Management. His standing in the digital engineering industry is reflected in his membership of the Standards Australia working group developing a new international BIM standard (ISO 19650). Daniel also holds over a decade of Design and Construction experience tendering and delivering over $30 billion of Engineering projects in the industries of Rail & Road Infrastructure, Buildings, Water, Mining, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing, accompanied by a strong experience in business via a previously owned mobile Apps company.
CEO and Founder | BuildingSP
Brett Young is the CEO and Founder of BuildingSP, a software development company that is at the forefront of design automation for MEP systems. BuildingSP’s products use algorithms and advanced computing to perform autorouting and interactive, real-time clash detection directly within the Autodesk Revit environment. This includes the use of generative design and machine learning in BIM workflows. This is the second startup for Brett, having previously founded Modulus Consulting, a BIM consulting firm with multimillion dollar annual revenues. He has a background in the management of large, commercial construction projects from nine years of work at Cahill Contractors, a San Francisco building general contractor. Brett is a graduate in civil and environmental engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
BIM Manager, Technical Development and Application | AECOM
Adam works within the BIM Advisory group providing technical and strategic advice relating to BIM execution plans, contracts, project deliverables, management and system tools to support BIM Projects and BIM2FM Integrated Solutions. An associate director at AECOM, Adam’s role is focused on developing systems and skill sets to deliver BIM and DE project requirements to ensure best value for clients across AECOM’s market sectors. This involves supporting & up-skilling the internal teams to deliver effective workflows and decision making abilities to ensure the talented team within AECOM work on design rather than focusing purely on output. Adams other responsibilities include managing the scope and product development of new applications working with AECOM’s technology service and Geographic Information System (GIS) teams. Adam identifies new product offerings for internal and external customers by scoping budget, development and coding and testing support to see these products released on time under budget and be successfully integrated into the business lines.
Chief Executive Officer | VANZI
Michael has 40+ years of experience in a wide variety of senior management and consulting roles across a range of industries including: government, telecommunications, brewing, construction, consumer goods and manufacturing, covering a wide range of disciplines, including as Manufacturing Manager for Toyota Australia, as well as CEO of Westgate Ports, the first transport and logistics company to successfully operate wholly digitally. While he has previously sat on the Board of the Australian Logistics Council and was a member of Austroads Intelligent Transport Industry Reference Group, his entire time is now taken up as CEO of the Virtual Australia and New Zealand Initiative (VANZI), which he established in 2011. He has been instrumental in advancing the vision of a new piece of digital ‘infrastructure’: the Digital Built Environment (DBE).
Senior Territory Sales Manager AEC ANZ | Autodesk
After graduating from RMIT as a Civil Engineer, Rafik worked in the industry for five years while completing two further degrees in computer science as well as engineering asset management, Rafik joined Autodesk four years ago as the lead for Autodesk’s Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) Territory business. Prior to joining Autodesk, Rafik held sales, technical and professional services roles with other engineering software vendors.
Technical Sales Consultant | C.R. Kennedy Building Construction
With over 15 years of construction experience, Chris supports C.R. Kennedy Building Construction clients throughout Australia with product selection, implementation and training to enable mechanical, electrical and plumbing contractors to take 3D positional data to the field digitally, increasing productivity and accuracy by improving layout processes. Chris has been involved with the Australian construction industry for over five years following his work with USA building company McCarthy based in San Francisco. Chris was instrumental in the use of robotic total stations for digital lay-out and the use of the laser scanning technology for verification. Previously Chris worked with Wood Rogers Inc and was responsible for construction set-out on the Mercy Medical Centre as well as a 31,000m2, $80-million printing facility.

Jarrod specialises in Augmented Reality, Mobility and IoT, and has over 19 years experience helping the world’s largest companies plan and implement programs that enable new operating models through the adoption of technology. He focuses on the intersection of business and technology to help companies plan and implement programs that enable new operating models through technology.
Jarrod brings a mix of business consulting, project management, solution architecture and mining industry specific experience. He has developed CSC’s position on the future of the mining industry and has published several related papers, including “A Day in the Life of a Mine Worker in 2025”. He has also led a comprehensive study of the opportunities to use big data & advanced analytics to improve business outcomes for the mining industry. This report was produced through CRC Mining – a joint Australian government and industry research co-operative.
Associate Director | Irwinconsult
During the past 18 years, Jason’s role as Building Services Engineer has focused on design and documentation of mechanical services within the areas of commercial, education, aged care, public and residential buildings. In recent years, Jason has headed the Pharmaceutical and Laboratories engineering and design teams at Irwinconsult.
Jason has worked on specialty fields including pharmaceutical cleanrooms, physical containment laboratories and large scale cooling water, chilled water, steam, heating hot water and cold glycol systems. Recent projects have seen Jason working as team leader on multidiscipline projects involving high levels of coordination between various engineering disciplines as well as architectural and pharmaceutical process engineering services.
His roles have also is also involved Environmentally Sustainable Design within Irwinconsult, and in recent times, expanded to include engineering consulting advice with a particular emphasis on high energy efficiency and practical environmentally responsive design. The advice is generally supported by the use of computer simulation providing clear insights into design issues such as daylighting and shading, natural ventilation and building thermal response. Jason has further skills in using software to provide Conceptual Environmental Design, Thermal and Daylight Analysis, as well as CAD packages including Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
