Mr Sumit Oberoi
Mr Oberoi is currently employed as National Executive Director with the AMCA. Prior to this appointment, Sumit was employed as Executive Director (Victoria) and before that, AMCA Policy Analyst, where he was responsible for the association’s policy program and has been instrumental in the development of the BIM-MEPAUS Initiative from its inception in 2010. Prior to joining the AMCA in 2009, Sumit worked in numerous roes with the Victorian State Government, most notably within the Economic and Financial Policy at the Department of Treasury and Finance. Sumit is a passionate industry policy advocate who continually seeks to help AMCA members deliver quality projects through construction innovation.
Mr Christopher Rankin
Christopher is the Executive Director of the Air Conditioning and Mechanical Contractors’ Association of South Australia Incorporated (AMCA SA) and has held that position for eight years.
Christopher has a career background in property and business sales and valuation and prior to that, management roles in the timber supply and pre-fabrication and the pastoral and agriculture sector.
Christopher holds a Bachelor of Business in Property and holds a variety of industry positions, including the National Fire Industry Association (SA), the Property Council of Australia, Office of Consumer and Business, Contractors SA, PEER VEET, Safe Work (SA), Member of the Real Estate Institute (SA), Member of the Australian Property Institute (SA).
Mr Warwick Stannus
Mr Stannus is the Group Engineering Manager of the A.G. Coombs Group of Companies and has had a career focus on central plant upgrades, data centres and commercial refurbishment projects.
In recent years Mr Stannus has been heavily involved in the delivery of Independent Commissioning Agent services working on a number of Australia’s leading Green Star projects developing valuable experience in best practice sustainable design and project delivery.
With a background in both the consulting and contracting sides of the construction industry, Mr Stannus has a strong understanding of the requirements to successfully implement integrated project delivery strategies.
Mr Daniel Sullivan
Mr Daniel Sullivan has over 10 years’ experience as a Design Engineer in the building industry and has extensive experience across numerous major projects in most sectors.
Daniel’s career includes various positions with one of Victoria’s largest D&C contracting firms, D&E Air Conditioning. His duties have included responsibility of project design and management, client liaison, mechanical services design, estimating, reports and estimates, co-ordination of multi-discipline design and documentation on a wide range of projects.
In his current role as Technical Services Manager with D&E, Daniel is responsible for a team of 35 people. His responsibilities include managing all engineering and drafting on D&E projects, the coordination of engineering and drafting labour, managing on-time delivery for all engineering and drafting work, problem solving for project managers, reviewing standards and code compliance, provision of design certification, BIM implementation program, and maintenance of D&E’s technical and drafting standards.
Mr Russell Telford
Mr Telford has over 30 years industry experience associated with Building Services. Mr Telford has spent 23 years with A.G. Coombs Group of companies including the 10 years as the Group Managing Director.
Focusing on the areas of Advisory, Projects, Service and Technical Management the A.G. Coombs Group is a leader in the provision of “whole of life” building services – from design, install and commission through to ongoing advice, service, maintenance and operation for all the systems that bring buildings to life, including air conditioning, ventilation, fire protection, electrical power, lighting and building technologies.
Mr Telford is a past Victorian AMCA President and current Chairman of the Victorian and National AMCA Training, Learning and Development Committees.
Mr Shannon Thomas
Shannon Thomas is the executive manager for Australia’s National BIM-MEPAUS Initiative run through the AMCA (Air Conditioning and Mechanical Contractors’ Association).
Shannon has a Bachelor of Engineering (Industrial Engineering & Engineering Management) with Honours from Monash University and recently completed postgraduate studies in Design Science (Building Services) from the University of Sydney.
With wide ranging professional experience in a number of roles within the automotive industry, Shannon has a particular interest in using his knowledge in HVAC Design, Project Engineering, Continuous Improvement and Lean Production to help guide the implementation and successful adoption of the national BIM-MEPAUS Initiative within the Construction industry’s exciting and evolving BIM space.
Mr Rush Sipkes
Rush is the Group BIM Manager of the BSA Limited group of companies which include the Triple-M and Allstaff brands.
Rush has a broad knowledge of the HVAC and construction industry practices, standards and worked in varied positions for a number of engineering consulting, mechanical contracting and construction related software companies.
With developed tech industry knowledge he has championed BIM related services to the industry and has designed and implement leading BIM strategies and workflows within the company. This enables a coherent approach with all project stakeholders for the transfer of information from concept through to production, installation and handover, utilising the latest in technology.
Rush is passionate about being at the forefront of the fastest moving construction industry trends utilising BIM. This is why he has spent the past eight years promoting the shift to BIM within our industry and enables him to confidently deliver BIM compliant projects for some of Australia’s largest healthcare and commercial clients.
Mr Greg Andrews
Greg Andrews is the Managing Director of D&E Air Conditioning. Greg has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry, spanning over 25 years.
He currently oversees the three divisions of D&E, being Major Projects, Light Commercial and Regional Projects and is actively involved with the tenders that are submitted by the company.
Greg places great emphasis on meeting the client’s needs with sustainable solutions. D&E prides itself on delivering well designed, energy efficient buildings, with expert quality, timely delivery and the capacity to always get the job done.
